Learner Response

Keanu/ minority Representation
Clear introduction of media issues/debate- I like the justification too (lack of protagonist)
Nice use of humour. However there’s too much text on the slides and the Animation removes any flow to the presentation.
This is really suggesting a lack of rehearsal – struggling to get through content on the slides, particularly with lots of text.
There’s clearly been some goof research and the graph on Hollywood protagonist is excellent and strongly supports the main issue/debate.
Stereotypes are clearly introduced-a real strength here (good pictures and the stereotypes are totally relevant) however, the impact of these stereotypes on audience is brushed over – this will be vital to get into for the critical investigation.
Oscar story is relevant, recent and an important part of the debate.
Q+A - first question on audience impact is important. Answered with personal opinion but lacking the depth and sophistication for A2
Second question on #BLM and wider context + racism… struggles to answer initially but then raises a couple of superb point on social media – particularly the reinforcement of negative black stereotypes by black people on social media. This is fascinating and needs to be explored further!
This also raises the level of the Q+A massively.
Content – 3/5
Clarity – 2/5

Presentation – 2/5

WWW:  good content shown in the presentation for example the use of representation,
Good content shown in the presentation for example great statistics shown at the end of the presentation
EBI:

My presentation contributes towards acknowledging the deeper meaning of the black representations, the factors associated with it, learning and looking at perspectives from a neutral lens. This will contribute towards my critical investigation because the topic raises lots and lots of strands of questions that I could look at, ultimately giving me more flexibility and a range of choices on the content I have chosen.
